ROOKIE OF THE WEEK WATCH - Week 15

Amari Williams
PER 13.54
Eastern 1-3
Amari keeps on the starting train for the Raptors this week and his main competition is being compared to Rocco's numbers. 13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and 2 blocks per game on 51% from the field and 36% from the line in 36 minutes a night, says he was probably worse overall than Rocco, which probably doesn't bode well for his chances at taking the award home, but it's a solid week for the rookie regardless.
Rocco Zikarsky
PER 16.23
Eastern 1-3
Don't look now, but the biggest man in the 2025 draft just got thrust into a starting role last week with the injury news to Day'Ron Sharpe after weeks of Steven Adams also being out. Rocco had all the run he could handle at 35 minutes a night and responded with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks per game on the week while shooting it 56% from the field. He didn't connect on a triple, despite shooting it 2.3 times a game, but that side of his game can still grow.
Noah Penda
PER 11.63
Eastern 1-3
Penda was moved back to a starting role this week and continued his solid rookies year putting up perhaps his best week of the season. 13 points a night on 49/52/50 splits and he added 6 rebounds and 3 assists to the line too. He's showing he has long term upside as a role guy  in a rotation and the Raptors have got to be happy with his development!
Tre Johnson
PER 21.90
Eastern 1-3
Tre continues his tear in Toronto with another huge week where he dropped 27 points with 2 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal per game in 36 minutes a night. The major knock though, which has been a season long thing, is his efficiency which will develop with experience, but for now, even though the counting numbers look solid, 39/29/94 splits won't be cutting it long term as a starter.
Moussa Cisse
PER 17.64
Eastern 4-0
For a hot minute in the offseason, Cisse generated some buzz before bidding closed on the 2way guys for his athleticism, high rebounding and block ratings, but he didn't garner many points in the end and he's been used barely at all during the season. Last week, he was forced into a rotation due to injury and showed that he is raw, but he can produce in small minutes (12.5 per game). He scored 7 points, 4 rebounds and an assist per game and shot it 86% from the field too!
Khaman Maluach
PER 17.92
Western 0-4
Maluach has had a couple of slow weeks recently but this week he went bang to remind everyone that he might just be that favourite for the award still. 18 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and 2.5 blocks per game is a monster week for the rookie impacting both ends of the court, even if the team was struggling still to the tune of -23.5 for him on the week.
VJ Edgecombe
PER 17.48
Western 1-3
VJ has been great all year, just not "amazing" compared to some, but he's probably going to finish the year strong with some continued ratings updates. This past week his minutes were down but he put in 17 points a night, 3 rebounds and 5 assists with 2 steals per game also. He simply got up more shots a game this week with the same efficiency as he has shown on the yera, too.
Derik Queen
PER 12.51
Western 2-2
Queen had a really odd week this past week. He's more of an offensive big man and less on the rebounds, but this week went for 37/13/100 splits resulting in 5 points per game in 33 minutes, but he hauled in 13 rebounds with 5 assists, 2.5 steals and a block per game, impacting the game in a multitude of other ways outside of scoring.
Asa Newell
PER 16.98
Western 3-1
Newell keeps expanding his game in Golden State as part of that elite unit that has alot of the league baffled as to why it works so well and the Warriors keep winning. 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists with a steal and 1.8 blocks per game showing his versatility on both ends of the floor week in and week out, even if his outside shot wasn't falling this week at 9% from deep.
Cooper Flagg
PER 15.05
Western 4-0
Flagg has gone from a shoe in for the top rookie award, to fighting for his own in a newly star studded Portland line up. This week highlights that as he's soonto drop below 20ppg on the season, with a week of 13 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block per game in a very efficient 27 minutes at 58% from the field. He came off the bench, for these numbers, too.
