ROOKIE OF THE WEEK WATCH - Week 13

Daniss Jenkins
PER 16.09
Eastern 0-4
Jenkins found some efficiency this week shooting it 47/43/67 as opposed to 36/29/79 on the season and consequently averaged 16 points, 6 rebounds, 6 asissts and 1.3 steals per game which might just get him the East award this week. He's still starting and has been a revelation from the 2way spot for Detroit.
Noah Penda
PER 9.56
Eastern 0-4
Penda rounds out the 3rd Raptor nominated this week for rookie of the week and he had a really solid starting week on the wing where he averaged 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.3 blocks on 48/33 and no FT shooting. It's not an award winner, but he played within himself and filled a role which is all you can ask for the developing rookie.
Tre Johnson
PER 19.35
Eastern 0-4
Tre Johnson started last week for the Raptors after being a great 6th man for the Knicks most the year. This time as a starter he poured in 22 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1 block per game despite shooting it a horrible 29/29/89 split and the Raptors continuing to lose.
Ace Bailey
PER 12.73
Eastern 0-4
Bailey has had a greta rookie year thus far but he won't win the award tis week. He had a down week where he shot it only 10% from deep and scored 10 points a night compared to his season average of 16, though his assist numbers were up. Maybe it was a position change that he didn't like as much?
Amari Williams
PER 12.88
Eastern 0-4
Amari Williams started in his first week for his new Raptors team and he did everything you'd hope for from a converted 2way rookie. 11 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and a smattering of defensive numbers which is great as a starter. He's not ready yet, but he can hold his own largely still.
Dylan Harper
PER 26.45
Western 1-3
Harper continues to fly as the highlighted rookie and new face of the franchise in New Orleans and this week he poured in 26 points a night with 4 rebounds and 6 assists, adding 1.5 steals and a block per game to boot. His shooting efficiency was up also at 51% from the field, but down at 24% from deep. The kid has game already and is going to be a force for the future.
Jeremiah Fears
PER 17.08
Western 1-3
Fears continues to improve down the stretch as he went for 18 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 1.3 steals per game this past week on 48/33/92 shooting splits. One of the youngest guys in the draft, he's going to have some time to work it out but he has game and shows why Shay was happy to grab him in the moving of Butler.
Khaman Maluach
PER 19.08
Western 2-2
Maluach continues to firm as the ROTY favourite as he was everywhere again for the Suns averaging 17 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.3 steals and a block per game on 78% from the field. The rookie big continues to start and put up numbers and as long as he's healthy and he plays down the stretch, it's starting to look like he's the shoe in.
Asa Newell
PER 15.42
Western 3-1
Newell continues to start in the Bay Arena and he went for 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and a block last week on 63/43/67 shooting splits showing that the Warriors really have unearthed a gem for the future here. He works hard, plays D, and spaces the floor, he's the do it all big man anyone can use.
Maxime Raynaud
PER 22.47
Western 3-1
Raynaud has been back off the bench this past week but he still contributes in such a role like a bench big should. 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and a block in 11 minutes is a great return playing his role, but he won't get a look in for the award.
